Towards the science of learner engagement

The 2014 Finnish-US SAVI PI-ECR Meeting

9-11 June 2014
University of Helsinki

PRELIMINARY PROGRAM

Sunday 8 June (optional)  (Information below for those who have signed up; added 7 June)

  • Day trip to Tallinn, Estonia.  We will arrange taxis to go to the harbor from Cumulus Kaisaniemi; meet st 710 am there.  Have breakfast in advance if you can.   I would discourage buying food on-board.  It is crowded and expensive and takes time.  Please call or email Eric if you have any trouble getting to the hotel.   +358 (0) 4655 36291.  We encourage you if you have a chance to look up the town of Tallinn Estonia and to think through things you might want to do.  Lots of historical stuff.  Most of you know my recommendation to visit the dark and dusty museum of Soviet history.  I will never forget it.  But beautiful town square, lots of places to visit, eat, etc.  We will return at 7:30 pm – need to get there by 6:45, and the ship closes doors at 7:00 pm.  At the start of the trip, we, we will have a brief orientation when we get to our conference room.  Our meeting room will be on deck 8.  We need to board together since they have all the tickets together.  Justina Judy will share a brief talk and then we will form subgroups and have at it with planning or writing, etc.  We will not take the conference room on the return.
